Health Plan Head Count Delayed Until Dec. 5 | WWC

The Center for Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight (CCIIO) has extended its health plan enrollee report deadline until 11:59 p.m., Dec. 5. Originally due by Nov. 15, the report requires employers and insurers to indicate how many health insurance enrollees they have. They then have to pay a reinsurance fee of $63 per enrollee as part of a pool to help cover catastrophic claims (because insurers can no longer refuse coverage to anyone, no matter how sick). Of the sum, $52.50 has to be paid by Jan. 15, 2015, with the remaining $10.50 due by Nov. 15, or the whole sum can be paid by Jan. 15. The payment deadlines have not been changed, even though the report deadline has, CCIIO officials confirmed.
